OCFA Fire Cadet Academy

The Fire Cadet Academy gives young people (ages 14-21) valuable insight into the firefighting profession. The academy experience helps many graduates determine if a career in the fire service is the desired path for them. Approximately 60 participants in the week-long academy, held annually in July, gain personal confidence through developing both mechanical skills and aptitude, learning to use various tools, experiencing team-building activities, and, most importantly, leaving with heightened fire safety awareness.
